Asli McCullers
Front Ensemble Technician
Asli is excited to be supporting Old Line for her 2nd year as a Front Ensemble Instructor!
A Frederick, Maryland native, Asli is a Governor Thomas Johnson High School alum, having performed with TJ Front for 6 seasons between 2012 and 2016, and returning as an instructor from 2017-2020. Additionally, Asli is a proud Towson University alum, having performed with The World-Famous Towson University Band from 2016-2019, and serving as a front ensemble section leader (and splitting center with her identical twin!) for 3 consecutive seasons. She also minored in music performance, receiving classical percussion training from Dr. Michelle Humphreys and Mr. Mark Craig. She marched marimba with Imperial Dynasty for their revolutionary “Rebirth” program in 2017, which marked their official emergence at the competitive WGI Championships in Dayton, OH.
Asli is also engaged in performer support and advocacy groups, including Performing Arts Initiative for Students of Color (PAISOC), where she served on the 2023 selection committee Drum Corps Scholarship for students of historically marginalized backgrounds.
Outside of the marching arts, Asli is a full time PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studies Behavioral and Community Health. She is a Senior Health Equity Research Associate at MedStar Health Research Institute and is deeply involved in work at the intersections of social justice and public health.
