Bryan Hirschmann

Founder / Indoor Percussion Director

Bryan Hirschmann is the Founder of Old Line Performing Arts and the Director of its Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Old Line Independent. The conception of OLPA has been the efforts of nearly a decade of work and planning supported solely on the vision of providing an affordable outreach program to students and educators alike.   

Over the course of the last two decades, Bryan has taught, designed, arranged, adjudicated, and consulted for countless groups and organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  His programs and drill designs have been recognized as Class, State, and National Champions as well as BOA and WGI Regional Finalists and Champions.     

When Bryan is not working within the pageantry arts, he serves full-time with the Maryland Army National Guard as a Recruiting and Retention Non-Commissioned Officer.  Prior to his current assignment, he spent 14 years as a member of the 229th Army Band.  In that capacity, he served as a musician, drum major, and pro-audio engineer.  In 2012, he was recognized as the Army Band's Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year for the entire country.

Bryan is a resident of Frederick, Maryland where he lives with his wife Kimberly, his two children, and his dog and cat.
